GOP support for expansion of criminal FDIC

So, in order to make the bailout plan more palatable, especially to Republicans, an expansion of the FDIC has been added (a measure the GOP had been specifically calling for). I'm fairly certain we need no further proof that the Republican Party is no longer anything but a slightly less socialist version of the Democratic Party. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, a New Deal era collectivist scheme, is basically a criminal operation. Individual deposits at private banks are insured by the government against loss up to $100,000. The Republicans want that raised to $250,000 (which it already was for IRAs in 2005). In case it's not obvious, that means that we're all forced at the point of a gun to hand over part of our paychecks to compensate our neighbors for their losses if their banks fail. This, if done by anyone but Uncle Sam, is what we would call a blatant criminal action. The Republicans are calling for an increase in this criminal activity as a condition of their support for an already grossly criminal bailout plan. Forgive me if I'm a tad confused about the GOP calling itself a bastion of freedom and limited government.

And don't even get me started on the morally indefensible expansion of the use of collective violence to violate the natural rights of insurance company owners by forcing them to cover certain conditions instead of letting them decide on their own.

Disturbing video (not for the faint of heart)

I guess everyone's seen this by now since it was on Drudge, but this video of children singing a song worshiping Obama is extremely disturbing. This kind of brainwashing of innocent children (while certainly within their parents' rights) is possibly even creepier than kids waving their hands in the air and singing songs worshiping mystical characters from ancient religious books. In both cases, the poor kids have no idea what's really going on and are being used by adults to further their respective dogmas that demand the repudiation of logic and reason.

Update: I've replaced the video link with a working one since the first one was made private.
